Katie Ashworth has a B. S. in Psychology through Keiser University located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Katie is currently an intern in the process of earning her master’s degree at Keiser University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She is under the direct clinical supervision of Janean Byrne who is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida #MH15525. Katie has experience with group therapy and one on one counseling with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, and phobias. Katie has excelled in her trainings with couples and family counseling, addictions counseling, psychopathology, and crisis counseling. Katie has also obtained continuing education certificates in assessment and intervention with suicidal clients and brief intervention and referral to treatment for substance misuse.
In Therapy, her focus has been on anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, self-esteem self-confidence, as well as many other hindrances that inhibit us from reaching our best potential and enjoying life. She believes in taking a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, while considering an individual’s health, sleep patterns, thinking patterns, spirituality, relationship dynamics, etc. Her strengths are in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to change mal-adaptive thoughts, and Mindfulness Therapy.
